Saturday, June 16th – Day +26

Hi Everyone,

I talked to Mike this evening.  He was going to try and get some sleep.  He did 3 laps today and 10 minutes on his peddle exerciser.

We talked for a short time about how hard this has been for him.  He said if he’d have known he wouldn’t have done it.  i told him that is why we don’t know everything because then we have the guts to do it and get through it.  I told him that we are on the uphill swing now and that the more he walks and peddles he’ll be closer to walking out of the hospital and going to mom’s.  I told him how proud we all are of him and that he needs to hang tough for a little longer because we all want him to be here with us for many more years and this is his chance at that life.  He sounded good after our talk so hopefully he can keep doing what he has to to get well.

Rick, Sally and mom are supposed to go visit him tomorrow.  I am going to try and go to see him on Monday or Tuesday.  He likes to have visitors because it helps to pass the time.  Plus he has someone to walk with for his laps which makes them easier to do.

I’ll continue to keep you posted.  Thanks for all of the prayers not only for Mike but for all of our family.

love, Ann

Hi from the Mom, Mike had an egg and toast for breakfast and noodles and broth again for the 5th day, and when he complained, he was told that he has one more day of noodles and then will have a different solid added. Sure will help him when he gets his “taster” back!
I also thank you for your prayers, gifts, love and caring. God bless you all! Much Love, Tan

    Hi Mike,
I know this has been so hard for you and I am so sorry. We all think we can understand, but we can’t. We can’t know what you are going through or how you feel. I can tolerate about two days of being sick enough to make me stay put somewhere and then I start to go crazy …. and you have had to deal with a lot of pain and being uncomfortable also.
Try to hang in there. If you are getting sick of broth and noodles, I will make you some lasagna when you get to your mom’s! You use to like that!!
I read this message board everyday to keep up on your progress and how you are doing.
    I’m thinking about you,
    Chris

Mike, Hang in there. I know this has been a very difficult experience. Remember when I was there and said how proud I was of you to do this and how brave I said you were – well, I still am proud of your bravery and now you know why – because this has been extrememly tough! But extreme toughness is needed to get through such a treatment that is meant to beat one of THE toughest foes we face in medicine – Cancer. Keep fighting – you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. You have many cheering and praying for you in your struggle!
    Keep the faith, baby! Sara
